The Past and Present of Country Throws

They are also perfect for picnics, of just to have a warm place to sit on a cool floor, without having to use a full sized quilt.

Their smaller size also is advantageous when it comes time to clean. They can often be washed by hand or on the gentle cycle of the washing machine, but won't clog the whole thing up.

Various materials are used for country throws including cotton and cotton blends. 
This is an added bonus as cotton fabrics are usually easy to care for.
